Some information about Spokesperson Dan Williams …
Why did I want to be a spokesperson for Sangaree. First, and most importantly, Jeannie told me to do it. In all seriousness, this is where I live and own a home. We built our home in 2003 and this will probably be the last one we own. It’s very, very important that we stop the deterioration of our neighborhoods and for the residents here not to live in fear of what’s going on around us. Jeannie and I have been proactive and well connected in our community in the past. We haven’t for sometime, and we believe that it’s time to again help as much as we can to insure the best community we can. Sangaree is unique in that it is still an area that features affordable housing for middle class working people, and at the same time is a very attractive place to live. We have found the residents and neighbors here are very pleasant and helpful.
Some have even become like family. We believe in this neighborhood and it’s people and we need to be here for each other.
Some information about Spokesperson Suzette Joyce …
I am willing to be a spokesperson for this group because I am a 13 year resident of Sangaree and it is my home. My children have grown up here and my grandchildren are growing up here now. Living conditions and the environment we provide for them is very important to me. More than that, as a community volunteer in various projects through the years, and as a teacher assistant at Sangaree Middle School, people in this community have become my friends. Working together, I believe all of us can benefit.

20 people showed up at the Sunday meeting. We discussed about who will represent Sangaree at the Berkeley County Council meeting. Several people volunteered as speaker so we decided to put it to a vote. Dan Williams and Suzette Joyce were elected.
As a community we need to show up at the Berkeley County Council meeting. Even though we now have spokespersons we still need the community to come out strong in numbers.

For many years here in St. James Estates, we gave a good fight against our crime.
We did find a way that helped our neighborhood to reduced our crime by 62%.
In 2001, we were honored in Washington, DC with the only award in the Nation for saving lives by a crime watch group.
Sometimes, we are asked by the Sheriff’s Crime Prevention Officer, Sgt.Frank Jackson, to help others when they request it, to share our crime plan information and how our system is organized. Something that ties in with the Sheriff’s program.
We may can help you.
We have helped College Park, Forest Lawn, Bonneau Beach, Chaparrel Ranches and others.
If your group would like, have someone or your Crime Watch Coordinator, contact us and we would be glad to talk to you. Send us an e-mail.
-Thanks,
