Hit and run driver damages fence on Parkway
Thursday evening around 6:15 a white truck was witnessed trying to pass a slow moving car on the Sangaree Parkway. Losing control in the grass while trying to pass the car, the truck slammed into a wooden privacy fence. The driver then sped away from the scene — tearing up the grass and leaving skid marks on the road. Several people who witnessed the accident were able to get the truck’s license plate number and called the police. The South Carolina Highway Patrol, who were already in the area, arrived within 10 minutes. Later that night the SCHP called to say they had caught the driver and issued several tickets.

Since the guy was caught, would it not be possible to publish his name/address on this site so we would know who to look out for. It is public information so I don’t see how it would be different than the papers publishing it. Just a thought.

I can’t support that idea. If you are interested in knowing who this person is, then you can ask the Sheriff’s department for that information. However, holding the person up for public scrutiny and shame will only invite retaliation. Retaliation is just another form of violence that we should be trying to prevent, not encourage.
Therefore, at this time, we will not be posting the names of individuals charged with crimes in Sangaree.

Understand. I stand corrected. Not promoting retaliation, but would like to be aware of which car may be the one running off the road into someone on the sidewalk. Especially if it’s my child. Guess it’s the Grace of God he didn’t go through that fence into someones back yard.

Two months ago, late at night, someone drove their vehicle across the corner of our yard. ( We have a corner lot.) The vehicle left tire ruts on our lawn because it had recently rained. A white truck “lives” next door, and on one too many occasions, we have witnessed the young male driver pull away at a fast rate of speed. I saw him turn around on the corner of the yard he lives across from. It’s just a matter of time before he hits a child.

Did the driver of that white truck go to jail? Just curious, because the white truck that lives next door is parked permanently on the grass. The young male driver is no longer around the house. It may not even be the same white truck, and this is just a co-inky-dink.
